this was a really fun project to work on, with many challenges and constraints; firstly it is a very small room with limited floor space, it needed a bed, some space for play, storage and a small desk. through multiple design the end result was a captains-bed which offered more space for play and cupboard, drawers and storage bins for books and toys. using the structure of the bed and opposite wall to support a small desk. all very compact but very functional, neat and fun. the material of choice was birch-plywood all around, including walls and ceiling. the majority of surfaces were covered in in large panels, apart from one wall which was broken into smaller panels and a number of display shelves were incorporated.
